Sunday Morning Expansion - Sept 13

Good Morning Church Family,

Tomorrow will be an exciting day for our church as we expand our Sunday morning ministries by re-introducing Worship Care during the services and Bible Study classes for all ages. We understand that different people have different opinions and expectations concerning COVID-19, masks, and social distancing. In light of that, I want to remind you of our Scripture memory focus this year. Recall that in Galatians 5 Paul lists things like enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions and envy as deeds of the flesh. These attitudes and actions are not to be named among us. On the other hand, Paul lists love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control as the fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22). As we walk by the Spirit, we will be characterized by the fruit of the Spirit.

Friends, let's do everything we can to walk by the Spirit, especially as we begin to expand ministries this fall. While we have done our best to prepare for tomorrow's Bible Study expansion, there remain some unknowns as to how many people will actually show up. It may be that we will need to utilize a worship overflow room. My exhortation to you is this - If you are asked to move to an overflow room, please do so kindly and joyfully, recognizing that this is a way to serve others! If you find that your Bible Study class is full beyond social distancing seating capacity, will you, out of love, put on a mask to accommodate the concerns of others? If you find that you are having to wait an extra few minutes to be seated (in a pew that you normally don't sit in), will you be patient with the ushers?

Friends, we are doing everything we can to make this Sunday a wonderful experience. It's my prayer that we as a church will follow Paul's words in Romans 12:10 - "Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor."

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Pastor Nate
